The beautiful Bucarabu (local name of a Jola drum) consists of a bar/restaurants and a dozen rooms in bungalow style at 100 m. of the convivial Palma Rima sandy beach. This resort is especially popular among independent travelers and among many locals who come here for the relaxed atmosphere, the fine food, the nice, fresh coffee and the cold beer. Bucarabu is "the place to be" on Friday nights, with a swinging live band (salse, African, popular) and varied public, both ensuring a nice ambiance.
Bucarabu is located halfway the road that connects the coastal road (Bertil Harding Highway) with the wide sandy beach at Palma Rima. Solomon's beachbar is a relaxed hangout with beach beds. From here, you can take amazing hikes and mountainbike tours from here, both in the direction of the more touristy Kololi (1,5 km south), and to the nature area near the Badala Park hotel in the direction of Fajara. The Fajara (Golf & Country) club is at about 3 km.
The a la carte restaurant with open grill offers a modern menu, plus weekly changing season specialties. The tapas offers delicious, varied tapas against reasonable prices.
You can go to the beautiful bars for a nice and refreshing drink or cocktail.
The rooms are furnished simply but tastefully with a double bed, cabinets. fan ceiling (included) and safe with code lock (included). Separate bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilet. Terrace with seat.
For those who want to get out, we rent out mountainbikes, cars, 4x4's and quads. Also, we have a pool table, darts, jeu de boules and a collection of (mainly Dutch) books.
Please note: on Saturday mornings between 10.30 and 12.30, we have a big welcoming meeting for all the recently arrived travelers. This relaxed and informative meeting also has local dance and music.
