This town consists of a few hotels by the beautiful, wide Kotu sandy beach. The central crafts market with batik, nice woodcarving and a few diners has been renovated fully in 2009. Restaurants and hotels are accessible to outsider guests.
The wide sandy beach is also popular among The Gambian international community, which often gathers in the famous beach bars such as Sailors or Paradise Beach, also accessible by car.
The Fajara Golf- & Country Club is the 'back yard' of Kotyu.
